Powder day!

The waiting is over. Bridger Bowl opened with a strong start. If you made it through the pass gauntlet, there was plenty of freshies to be had opening weekend. Today the powder is accumulating. Did you get your leg blasters in this fall? Keep strong to protect those knees all winter.
With powder skiing, people have a tendency to sit in the back seat to keep their tips ups. This is the most exhausting way to ski and will surely burn your quads up quickly. Link turns together, just like you do on a groomer and keep a positive flow. Are you scrunching up those toes? You are too far back. Keep your hands up in front of you, look down the hill and smile at what lies ahead of you, deep untracked pow! Keep moving. Relax. You don't have work on driving the edge. Nice gentle turns. If this seems challenging at first, practice the gentle movement on a fresh groomer. Point those skis downhill, and enjoy the fall line! Create a mantra if need be to remind yourself to turn.
I love powder. I love powder.
